The myelin sheath is a multilayered lipid-rich membrane formed by glial cells wrapping around neuronal axons, enabling saltatory conduction at nodes of Ranvier. Myelin pathology progresses from early hyperstaining to mid-stage degeneration with lipid droplet formation, and ultimately to complete demyelination and phagocytic clearance.
This myelin staining kit visualizes myelin integrity, degeneration, necrosis, and repair in pathological tissues. It is valuable for neurological disease research and diagnosis, revealing alterations such as swelling, fragmentation, globular deformation, and complete loss of myelin.
