Melanin Removal Kit

Cat.No. :
Kit-3726
Product Overview :
During immunohistochemistry and routine staining, various pigments may be present in tissues. Melanin is a common pigment, particularly abundant in melanocytes of the eye and skin. Due to its stability and resistance to removal, melanin often appears yellow in tissue sections, which can obscure cellular morphology, interfere with DAB chromogenic results, or affect interpretation of special stains.
Traditional melanin removal methods include picric acid, sodium hydroxide, and potassium hydroxide, but these approaches may cause tissue detachment or interfere with subsequent staining. Compared with these methods, the Solarbio Melanin Removal Kit causes less tissue damage and leaves minimal pigment residue. It is suitable for pretreatment of paraffin-embedded and frozen sections prior to routine or immunohistochemical staining.
