Product Overview :
Acid phosphatase (ACP) is a lysosomal enzyme that hydrolyzes phosphate esters under acidic conditions. It plays important roles in phosphorus metabolism, signal transduction, and cellular turnover. ACP activity is commonly used as a marker for lysosomal function and certain pathological conditions.
Principle of Measurement: ACP catalyzes the hydrolysis of phosphate esters to release phenol, which reacts with chromogenic reagents to form a colored product. The absorbance measured at 520 nm is proportional to ACP activity.
