Product Overview :

Mitochondria are essential cellular organelles responsible for energy production and metabolic regulation. Under light microscopy, mitochondria appear as granules, rods, or fine filaments. Janus green B is a mildly toxic basic dye suitable for supravital staining.
In living cells, mitochondria stain blue-green due to the presence of the cytochrome oxidase system, which maintains the dye in an oxidized, colored state. In contrast, the dye is reduced and becomes colorless in the surrounding cytoplasm. This kit is suitable for functional assessment of mitochondria derived from animal, human, plant, or insect cells. It is sterile, ready to use, compatible with live-cell staining, and provides stable and reproducible results.
