Significance: MDHAR catalyzes the reduction of monodehydroascorbate (MDHA) to ascorbic acid (AsA) and plays a crucial role in ascorbate redox metabolism.
Principle: MDHAR catalyzes the reduction of MDHA using NADH, producing AsA and NAD⁺. NADH exhibits a characteristic absorbance peak at 340 nm, whereas NAD⁺does not. MDHAR activity is calculated by measuring the rate of decrease in absorbance at 340 nm.
