The Russell-modified Movat pentachrome stain provides rich multicolor contrast and is primarily used for demonstrating atherosclerotic plaques. Weigert hematoxylin stains nuclei, crocein scarlet stains cytoplasm, saffron stains collagen, and Alcian blue stains proteoglycan-rich matrix.
This improved kit replaces Bouin’s solution with a mordant solution, enhancing safety and environmental compatibility while maintaining staining performance.
