This kit uses the azo-coupling method rather than metal precipitation to demonstrate Alkaline Phosphatase activity. Under alkaline conditions (pH 9.2–9.8), Alkaline Phosphatase hydrolyzes AB-BI phosphate, producing colored azo compounds localized in the cytoplasm.
Designed for blood and bone marrow smears, this method provides more reliable results than traditional metal salt precipitation techniques.
