Product Overview :

Lipids comprise neutral fats, lipoids, and their derivatives, characterized by water insolubility and solubility in organic solvents. Oil Red O is a lipid-soluble azo dye that selectively stains neutral triglycerides, lipids, and lipoproteins within cells and tissues. During staining, the dye preferentially dissolves into intracellular lipid droplets, rendering them red. This method is widely used for lipid analysis in cellular samples. Ethanol-containing fixatives should be avoided; fixation with 10% formalin is recommended if necessary. Positive lipid staining ranges from orange-yellow to red, depending on lipid concentration.
