Plant Tissue Stain Kit (PAS-NYS method)

Cat.No. :
Kit-3782
Product Overview :
In plant tissues, starch and cell wall carbohydrates generate aldehyde groups upon oxidation by periodic acid. These aldehydes react with Schiff reagent to produce a red coloration, known as PAS staining. Plant proteins are often stored as solid aleurone grains enclosed by membranes, forming spherical particles. Naphthol Yellow S binds to proteins to form a yellow complex.
Combining PAS staining with Naphthol Yellow S allows simultaneous visualization of starch granules and proteins in plant tissues. After staining, starch granules and cell walls appear purplish-red, while proteins appear yellow.
This product is designed for staining proteins and starch granules in plant tissues.
