Soil cellulase (S-CL) is mainly derived from soil microorganisms. The glucose produced from crop residue degradation by S-CL serves as a major carbon source.
This assay uses the 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS) method to determine reducing sugars released during cellulose hydrolysis, allowing calculation of cellulase activity.
