Product Overview :
Succinate dehydrogenase is a mitochondrial flavoprotein enzyme involved in the tricarboxylic acid cycle and serves as a marker enzyme for mitochondria. Tissues with high SDH activity include myocardium, renal tubules, and hepatocytes.
This kit uses succinate as the substrate and nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) as the hydrogen acceptor, producing blue-purple formazan deposits at sites of enzyme activity. A specialized intermediate electron carrier enhances localization accuracy and staining clarity. Fresh frozen tissue sections are required.
