Transporter Screening Assays

Transporters and channels control the uptake and efflux of essential nutrients, ions, cellular waste and drugs into and out of cells and organelles. Transporters mediate drug disposition and are major determinants of the pharmacokinetic, safety and efficacy profiles of drugs. Recent studies have shown that the inhibition or activation of a specific transporter that involves in the absorption, disposition, metabolism, elimination and toxicity of a drug could have significant clinical effects ranging from lowering drug efficacy to compromising safety etc. Transporters are implicated in the pathophysiology of disorders across several therapeutic areas including asthma, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and neuroscience, and therefore, represent attractive targets for drug discovery.

Drug transporters are composed of two major super families: ABC (ATP binding cassette) and SLC (solute carrier) transporters.

Creative BioMart has been the leading provider of high quality transporter assay services. We use proprietary knowledge and technologies to overcome the challenges associated with transport assay development. These assays include state-of-the-art multi-vectorial transporter models and predictive modeling of complex molecular transport. We delivers consistent, high quality data with the flexibility to adapt protocols based on specific customer requirements.
