Goat Anti-Human Hemoglobin PAb, FITC-Conjugation

Cat. No.: CPBTT30933GH
ProductOverview: Polyclonal Antibody to Hemoglobin(FITC), Involved in oxygen transport from the lung to the various peripheral tissues.
Antigen Description: Defects in HBA1/HBA2 may be a cause of Heinz body anemias. This is a form of non-spherocytic hemolytic anemia of Dacie type 1.The hemoglobin demonstrates heat lability. Heinz bodies are observed also with the Ivemark syndrome (asplenia with cardiovascular anomalies) and with glutathione peroxidase deficiency. The hallmark of alpha-thalassemia is an imbalance in globin-chain production in the adult HbA molecule. Due to the complete absence of alpha chains, the predominant fetal hemoglobin is a tetramer of gamma-chains (Bart hemoglobin) that has essentially no oxygen carrying capacity.
Immunogen: Human Hemoglobin.
Host animal: Goat
Cross reactivity: Human. Predicted to work with Chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, Gorilla
Isotype: IgG
Conjugation: FITC
Conjugation notes: F/P ratio is 3 to 7.
Application: IEP; ELISA; ICC
Storage Buffer: Preservative: 0.1% Sodium Azide; Constituents: 0.2% BSA, PBS, pH 7.2
Tissue Specificity: Red blood cells.
Sequence similarities: Belongs to the globin family.
Post-translationalmodifications: The initiator Met is not cleaved in variant Thionville and is acetylated
Purity: Immunogen affinity purified
Purification notes: The antibody was isolated by affinity chromatography using antigen coupled to agarose beads. Antibody concentration was determined by extinction coefficient prior to conjugation: absorbance at 280 nm of 1.4 equals 1.0 mg of IgG.
Storage: Store at +4°C.
Background:
IntroductionHemoglobin (also spelled haemoglobin and abbreviated Hb or Hgb) is the iron- containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells of all vertebrates(with the exception of the fish family Channichthyidae) as well as the tissues of some invertebrates. Hemoglobin in the blood carries oxygen from the respiratory organs (lungs or gills) to the rest of the body (i.e. the tissues) where it releases the oxygen to burn nutrients to provide energy to power the functions of the organism, and collects the resultant carbon dioxide to bring it back to the respiratory organs to be dispensed from the organism.
