Official Full Name
bromo adjacent homology domain containing 1

Overview
BAHD1 (bromo adjacent homology domain-containing 1 protein) is, as its name suggests, a bromo-adjacent homology (BAH) domain. The BAH domain is found in eukaryotic DNA (cytosine-5) methyltransferases, the origin recognition complex 1 (Orc1) proteins, and several proteins involved in transcriptional regulation. It is thought to function as a protein-protein interaction domain. The BAH domain of yeast Sir3p has been shown to bind to nucleosomes and to the N-terminal tail of histone H3. -
