GPAM

  • Official Full Name

    glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase, mitochondrial

  • Overview

This gene encodes a mitochondrial enzyme which prefers saturated fatty acids as its substrate for the synthesis of glycerolipids. This metabolic pathways first step is catalyzed by the encoded enzyme. Two forms for this enzyme exist, one in the mitochondria and one in the endoplasmic reticulum. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene.

GPAM has several biochemical functions, for example, glycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by GPAM itself. We selected most functions GPAM had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with GPAM. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

GPAM has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with GPAM here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of GPAM.
