PSMA8

  • Official Full Name

proteasome (prosome, macropain) subunit, alpha type, 8

  • Overview

The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex which is characterized by its ability to cleave peptides with Arg, Phe, Tyr, Leu, and Glu adjacent to the leaving group at neutral or slightly basic pH. The proteasome has an ATP-dependent proteolytic activity (By similarity). This may be a testis-specific subunit.

PSMA8 involved in several pathways and played different roles in them. We selected most pathways PSMA8 participated on our site, such as APC/C-mediated degradation of cell cycle proteins, APC/C:Cdc20 mediated degradation of Securin, APC/C:Cdc20 mediated degradation of mitotic proteins, which may be useful for your reference. Also, other proteins which involved in the same pathway with PSMA8 were listed below. Creative BioMart supplied nearly all the proteins listed, you can search them on our site.

PSMA8 has several biochemical functions, for example, endopeptidase activity, threonine-type endopeptidase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by PSMA8 itself. We selected most functions PSMA8 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with PSMA8. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

PSMA8 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with PSMA8 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of PSMA8.
