CS
-
Official Full Name
citrate synthase
-
Overview
The protein encoded by this gene is a Krebs tricarboxylic acid cycle enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of citrate from oxaloacetate and acetyl coenzyme A. The enzyme is found in nearly all cells capable of oxidative metablism. This protein is nuclear encoded and transported into the mitochondrial matrix, where the mature form is found. -

CS has several biochemical functions, for example, citrate (Si)-synthase activity, poly(A) RNA binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by CS itself. We selected most functions CS had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with CS. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

CS has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with CS here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of CS.
