Description : | The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the PARP family. These enzymes modify nuclear proteins by poly-ADP-ribosylation, which is required for DNA repair, regulation of apoptosis, and maintenance of genomic stability. This gene encodes the poly(ADP-ribosyl)transferase 3, which is preferentially localized to the daughter centriole throughout the cell cycle. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionPARP3 interacts with various proteins involved in DNA repair, forming complexes that coordinate the repair process.
Dysregulation of PARP3 can lead to genomic instability and impaired DNA repair, contributing to the development and progression of certain cancers.
While there are research tools for studying PARP3 activity in the laboratory, clinical diagnostic tools targeting PARP3 are still in the early stages of development.
Emerging research suggests that PARP3 may play a role in immune regulation, and its modulation could potentially impact immune responses in diseases such as cancer.
Some clinical trials are exploring the efficacy and safety of PARP inhibitors, and their potential application in cancers where PARP3 is implicated.
