Description : Protein S100-A11 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the S100A11 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21.
Source : E. coli
Species : Human
Form : Filtered (0,4 μm) and lyophilized in 0.5 mg/mL in 20mM TRIS, 50mM NaCl, pH 7.5.
Reconstitution : Add deionized water to prepare a working stock solution of approximately 0.5 mg/mL and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely. Product is not sterile! Please filter the product by an appropriate sterile filter before using it in the cell culture.
Applications : Western blotting
Quality Control Test : BCA to determine quantity of the protein; SDS PAGE to determine purity of the protein
Sequences of amino acids : MKHHHHHHAS MAKISSPTET ERCIESLIAV FQKYAGKDGY NYTLSKTEFL SFMNTELAAF TKNQKDPGVL DRMMKKLDTN SDGQLDFSEF LNLIGGLAMA CHDSFLKAVP SQKRT
Storage : Store lyophilized protein at -20°C. Lyophilized protein remains stable until the expiry date when stored at -20°C. Aliquot reconstituted protein to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles and store at -80°C for long term storage. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°C for a limited period of time; it does not show any change after one week at 4°C.

Ask a question
Can you elaborate on the role of S100A11 in cellular signaling pathways, particularly those involved in cancer progression and metastasis? 01/12/2021

S100A11 participates in multiple signaling pathways, influencing cancer progression and metastasis. It interacts with proteins involved in cell motility, invasion, and angiogenesis, contributing to the malignant phenotype.

How does S100A11 contribute to cellular differentiation, and are there specific target genes or pathways involved in this process? 05/23/2020

S100A11 plays a role in cellular differentiation, influencing specific target genes and pathways. Its involvement in differentiation programs is context-dependent and varies across cell types.

How is S100A11 expression regulated, and what are the transcriptional and post-translational mechanisms influencing its activity? 04/07/2019

S100A11 expression is regulated at transcriptional and post-translational levels. Transcription factors and signaling pathways control its mRNA levels, while post-translational modifications such as phosphorylation modulate its activity.

In neurodegenerative diseases, is there evidence of S100A11 involvement, and what are the potential mechanisms linking this protein to neurological pathology? 11/14/2018

Emerging evidence suggests a potential role for S100A11 in neurodegenerative diseases. The mechanisms linking S100A11 to neurological pathology involve its interactions with proteins and signaling cascades.

What is S100A11, and what is its cellular localization and physiological role? 08/29/2018

S100A11 is a member of the S100 protein family, predominantly located in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Its physiological roles include regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis.
