Ask a questionCells lacking this gene retain 38% of arabinofuranosidase activity, and the double mutant abfA/abf2 is inactive.
Hydrolysis of terminal non-reducing alpha-L-arabinofuranoside residues in alpha-L-arabinosides
SDS-PAGE, commonly used to obtain high resolution separation of complex mixtures of proteins
At 55°C and between pH 3.5 and pH 4
To investigate a putative Gal f -hydrolyzing activity of the α -arabinofuranosidases ABFA
The ABFA protein exist with affinity for both arabinofuranose and galactofuranose.
Glycosyl hydrolase 51 family
In a kinetic experiments at 37 degrees, with p-nitrophenyl-alpha-l-arabinofuranoside as substrate, V(max) of 317 μmol/min/mg for ABFA.
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt, aliquoting is necessary for mutiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
It can acts as glycosidase and hydrolase.
the recombinant ABFA and mutants were active at 30–50 °C and relatively stable at 25–45 °C. The optimal temperature was 40 °C. When the temperature was higher than 45 °C, the activity decreased sharply. Higher activities were obtained at pH 4.5‒6 for ABFA, the ABFA mutants showed maximal activity at pH 5, and activities of above 80% were retained at pH 6.
Aspergillus niger
