IKBKG

  • Official Full Name

IKBKG inhibitor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells, kinase gamma

  • Overview

NF-kappa-B essential modulator (NEMO) also known as inhibitor of nuclear factor kappa-B kinase subunit gamma (IKK-gamma) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the IKBKG gene. NEMO is a subunit of the IkappaB kinase that activates NF-kappaB. The human gene for IKBKG is located on chromosome Xq28. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.

IKBKG has several biochemical functions, for example, K63-linked polyubiquitin binding, linear polyubiquitin binding, metal ion binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by IKBKG itself. We selected most functions IKBKG had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with IKBKG. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
