MTM1
-
Official Full Name
myotubularin 1
-
Overview
This gene encodes a dual-specificity phosphatase that acts on both phosphotyrosine and phosphoserine. It is required for muscle cell differentiation and mutations in this gene have been identified as being responsible for X-linked myotubular myopathy. -

MTM1 has several biochemical functions, for example, intermediate filament binding, phosphatidylinositol binding, phosphatidylinositol-3,5-bisphosphate 3-phosphatase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by MTM1 itself. We selected most functions MTM1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with MTM1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
