Ask a question
How is AGTR1 involved in the regulation of renal function? 11/30/2021

AGTR1 activation in the kidneys leads to vasoconstriction of renal blood vessels, increased sodium reabsorption, and stimulation of aldosterone release, ultimately impacting renal function.

How does AGTR1 contribute to hypertension? 10/23/2021

Overactivation of AGTR1 can lead to increased vasoconstriction, sodium retention, and stimulation of aldosterone release, all of which contribute to hypertension.

What are the tissue distribution and expression of AGTR1? 02/13/2021

AGTR1 is widely expressed throughout the body, with high levels found in the cardiovascular system, kidneys, and adrenal glands.

Are there genetic variations in AGTR1 associated with disease susceptibility? 01/27/2021

Yes, genetic variations in the AGTR1 gene have been associated with increased susceptibility to cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and other conditions influenced by the renin-angiotensin system.

Can AGTR1 influence inflammatory processes? 09/10/2020

AGTR1 activation can modulate inflammatory responses, contributing to inflammation-associated conditions such as atherosclerosis and chronic kidney disease.

How does AGTR1 signal within cells? 06/11/2020

Upon angiotensin II binding, AGTR1 activates intracellular signaling pathways, such as G-protein-mediated pathways and the activation of downstream kinases.

How does AGTR1 affect angiogenesis? 01/23/2020

AGTR1 activation can promote angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, by stimulating endothelial cell proliferation and migration.

What are the downstream signaling pathways activated by AGTR1? 08/28/2019

AGTR1 can activate pathways such as the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway, and the Janus kinase/signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK/STAT) pathway.

Can AGTR1 be involved in cancer progression? 06/22/2019

AGTR1 has been implicated in cancer development and progression due to its role in cellular growth, angiogenesis, and inflammation.

How does AGTR1 contribute to oxidative stress? 05/02/2019

AGTR1 activation can promote the generation of reactive oxygen species, contributing to oxidative stress and cellular damage.
