Description : | The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the family of P-type primary ion transport ATPases characterized by the formation of an aspartyl phosphate intermediate during the reaction cycle. These enzymes remove bivalent calcium ions from eukaryotic cells against very large concentration gradients and play a critical role in intracellular calcium homeostasis. The mammalian plasma membrane calcium ATPase isoforms are encoded by at least four separate genes and the diversity of these enzymes is further increased by alternative splicing of transcripts. The expression of different isoforms and splice variants is regulated in a developmental, tissue- and cell type-specific manner, suggesting that these pumps are functionally adapted to the physiological needs of particular cells and tissues. This gene encodes the plasma membrane calcium ATPase isoform 2. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. |

Q&As (6)
Ask a questionATP2B2 is a calcium transporter, which is mainly responsible for transporting intracellular calcium to the outside of the cell, maintaining the balance of intracellular and extracellular calcium concentration, thus regulating the function of cells.
At present, the application potential of ATP2B2 is still under investigation, but it has been suggested that this protein may be related to the treatment of hypertension, cardiovascular disease, nervous system disease and other diseases.
Previous studies have focused on the mechanism and regulation of ATP2B2 in nervous system diseases, cardiovascular diseases and other related diseases, and the relationship between ATP2B2 and diseases.
ATP2B2 may affect the excitability of cells, muscle contraction, nerve conduction and other important physiological processes by regulating the dynamic balance of calcium ion in and out of cells.
In addition to ATP2B2, there are other proteins involved in calcium ion transport, such as ATP2B1 and ATP2B3, which also play a role in regulating calcium ion balance.
It is usually prepared by transferring the atpase B2 gene into the host cells suitable for protein expression through genetic engineering technology, and then obtaining the recombinant protein through cell culture and protein purification technology.
Customer Reviews (3)
Write a reviewDue to the high catalytic efficiency, high safety and high expression level of ATP2B2, the experimental process is more stable and reliable.
The stability of the ATP2B2 is very good and can be stored for a long time without inactivation.
ATP2B2 performed very well in Western blot with clear bands, which improved the accuracy of the experiment.
