Cat. No. : PDX1-176H
Description : Pancreatic Duodenal Homeobox-1 activates insulin, somatostatin, glucokinase, islet amyloid polypeptide and glucose transporter type 2 gene transcription. Particularly involved in glucose-dependent regulation of insulin gene transcription. binds preferentially the dna motif 5"-[ct]taat[tg]-3". During development, specifies the early pancreatic epithelium, permitting its proliferation, branching and subsequent differentiation. at adult stage, required for maintaining the hormone-producing phenotype of the beta-cell. Mutations in this gene may be involved in several disorders of the pancreas or in diabetes mellitus.
Source : Escherichia Coli.
Physical Appearance : Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Formulation : Lyophilized Powder of liquid in PBS, pH 7.4.
Purity : Greater than 97.0% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Solubility : It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized PDX1 in sterile PBS, 10% glycerol to prepare a stock of 100μg/ml.
Biological Acivity : The activity of human PDX-1 is determined by the ability to stimulate NeuroD1 gene expression in WB cells and binding to insulin promoter be EMSA assay.
Stability : Recombinant Human PDX1 although stable at 25°C 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Ask a question
How to study the regulatory mechanism of PDX1? 10/08/2022

Studying the regulatory mechanism of PDX1 requires a combination of various experimental methods and techniques, such as gene knockout, transcriptome analysis, and protein-protein interactions.

Do abnormal PDX1 levels suggest some disease? 08/21/2022

Abnormal PDX1 levels may indicate pancreas-related diseases such as diabetes, pancreatitis, and pancreatic cancer.

How are mutations in PDX1 detected and analyzed? 05/23/2022

Mutations in PDX1 can be detected and analyzed by methods such as whole-genome sequencing or target region sequencing to understand the impact of mutations on protein structure and function.

What are the mutation types of PDX1? 04/25/2022

The types of mutations in PDX1 include point mutations, insertions/deletions, duplications, etc., which may cause structural and functional abnormalities of the protein.

Is there a relationship between PDX1 and other genes or proteins? 11/05/2021

PDX1 has a complex relationship with other genes or proteins, and can interact with other genes or proteins and participate in a variety of biochemical reactions.

What are the applications of PDX1 in medical treatment? 10/12/2020

It can be used as a biomarker in medical treatment to help monitor disease progression and treatment efficacy. In addition, therapeutics targeting PDX1, such as gene therapy or modulating its expression, are also being studied.
