GPC6
-
Official Full Name
glypican 6
-
Overview
The glypicans comprise a family of glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored heparan sulfate proteoglycans, and they have been implicated in the control of cell growth and cell division. The glypican encoded by this gene is a putative cell surface coreceptor for growth factors, extracellular matrix proteins, proteases and anti-proteases. -

GPC6 has several biochemical functions, for example, heparan sulfate proteoglycan binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by GPC6 itself. We selected most functions GPC6 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with GPC6. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
