Description : | Macrophagecolony-stimulating factor, or CSF1, is a secreted cytokine which influenceshematopoietic stem cells to differentiate into macrophages or other relatedcell types. Eukaryotic cells also produce CSF1 in order to combatintercellular viral infection. (See colony-stimulating factor.) CSF1 binds tothe Colony stimulating factor 1 receptor. It may also be involved indevelopment of the placenta. |
