Description : Enables acetate-CoA ligase activity and propionate-CoA ligase activity. Acts upstream of or within acetyl-CoA biosynthetic process. Located in cytoplasm. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; genitourinary system; liver; nervous system; and sensory organ. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in orofacial cleft. Orthologous to human ACSS2 (acyl-CoA synthetase short chain family member 2).
Source : E. coli
Species : Mouse
Tag : N-His
Form : Freeze-dried powder
Molecular Mass : Predicted Molecular Mass: 27.1 kDa
Accurate Molecular Mass: 31 kDa
Protein length : Pro492-Gln701
Purity : > 90%
Applications : Positive Control; Immunogen; SDS-PAGE; WB.
Stability : The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37 centigrade for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
Storage : Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Store at 2-8 centigrade for one month. Aliquot and store at -80 centigrade for 12 months.
Storage Buffer : PBS, pH7.4, containing 0.01% SKL, 1 mM DTT, 5% Trehalose and Proclin300.
Reconstitution : Reconstitute in sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.

Ask a question
What is the role of ACSS2 protein in liver metabolism? 10/16/2021

ACSS2 protein is required for normal liver metabolism and the synthesis of ketone bodies, which are important energy sources during fasting and starvation

What is the effect of ACSS2 protein inhibition on the response to hypoxia? 05/27/2021

Inhibition of ACSS2 protein activity sensitizes cancer cells to hypoxia, a condition of low oxygen availability that promotes tumor progression and resistance to therapy.

What is the relationship between ACSS2 protein and fatty acid metabolism? 10/30/2020

ACSS2 protein plays a critical role in linking fatty acid metabolism to oxidative metabolism in the mitochondria of mammalian cells.

What is the role of ACSS2 protein in adipose tissue? 09/14/2020

ACSS2 protein plays a key role in adipose tissue metabolism by regulating the production of adipokines, hormones that are involved in the regulation of energy homeostasis.

What is the relationship between ACSS2 protein and aging? 08/07/2020

ACSS2 protein expression has been shown to decline with age, and the loss of ACSS2 protein activity may contribute to age-related metabolic dysfunction.

What is the relationship between ACSS2 protein and circadian rhythms? 05/23/2020

ACSS2 protein expression is regulated by circadian rhythms, and ACSS2 protein activity may play a role in the circadian regulation of metabolism.

What is the relationship between ACSS2 protein and the gut-brain axis? 02/27/2020

Emerging evidence suggests that ACSS2 protein may play a role in the gut-brain axis, which is the bidirectional communication between the gut microbiome and the central nervous system.

What is the relationship between ACSS2 protein and the gut microbiome? 09/18/2019

ACSS2 protein expression is regulated by the gut microbiome, and ACSS2 protein activity may play a role in the interaction between the host and the microbiome.

What is the effect of ACSS2 protein deficiency on macrophage function? 06/11/2019

Deficiency of ACSS2 protein activity in macrophages has been shown to impair phagocytosis and reduce the production of inflammatory cytokines.

What is the role of ACSS2 protein in the regulation of fatty acid oxidation? 05/04/2019

ACSS2 protein is involved in the regulation of fatty acid oxidation by providing the acetyl-CoA needed for entry into the TCA cycle.
