RCC1

Official Full Name
regulator of chromosome condensation 1

Overview
The Regulator of Chromosome Condensation 1 (RCC1) is a critical cell cycle regulator. This protein is involved in regulating the onset of chromosome condensation during S phase. The RCC1 protein binds to chromatin and interacts with Ran, a nuclear GTP-binding protein. This complex acts as a guanine-nucleotide dissociation stimulator (GDS) by promoting the loss of bound GDP and the uptake of fresh GTP. -
