Cat.No.:  PE-1842
Product Name:  CHD2 chromodomains (human recombinant)
Description:  Chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 2 (CHD2) is an ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling protein. It contains two N-terminal chromodomains, an SNF2-like helicase domain, and a C-terminal DNA-binding domain. The two N-terminal chromodomains have a 30-fold lower affinity for methylated histone H3K4 than the chromodomains of CHD1. CHD2 co-localizes with MyoD and histone H3, and knockdown of CHD2 prevents deposition of H3. at differentiation-dependent genes. Deletion of the CHD2 chromodomains prevents co-localization with H3. Loss or mutation of CHD2 has been implicated in epilepsy. Deletion of the DNA-binding domain of CHD2 in mice is homozygous lethal. Mice heterozygous for this deletion suffer decreased size, decreased viability, and abnormalities of the liver, heart, kidneys, and spleen. Reduced levels of CHD2 expression lead to lymphomas and reduced clearance of γH2AX foci following DNA damage. This protein product contains the two chromodomains of CHD2.
