BPTF is a component of the NURF, a protein complex which catalyzes nucleosome sliding and facilitates transcription on chromatin templates. BPTF also contains two PHD domains that mediate recognition of histone H3 Lys4 trimethyl (H3K4Me3), which marks the transcriptional start site of virtually every active genes. |
