Cat.No.: | EKIT-0340 |
Product Name: | Histone H3 Total Acetylation Assay Kit (Fluorometric) |
Assay Type: | Quantitative |
Description: | Acetylation of histones such histone H3 has been involved in the regulation of chromatin structure and the recruitment of transcription factors to gene promoters. HATs (histone acetyltransferases) and HDACs (histone deacetylases) play a critical role in controlling histone H3 actylation. Histone acetylation is tightly involved in cell cycle regulation, cell proliferation and apoptosis. The reversible lysine acetylation of histone H3 may play a vital role in the regulation of many cellular processes including chromatin dynamics and transcription, gene silencing, cell cycle progression, apoptosis, differentiation, DNA replication and repair, nuclear import and neuronal repression. The kit is designed for measuring total histone H3 acetylation in a fast format. In an assay with this kit, the acetyl histone H3 is captured to the strip wells coated with an anti-acetyl histone H3 antibody. The captured acetyl histone H3 can then be detected with a labeled detection antibody followed by a fluorescent development reagent. The ratio of acetyl histone H3 is proportional to the intensity of fluorescence. The absolute amount of acetyl histone H3 can be quantified by comparing to the standard control. |
