Cat.No.:  PE-1882
Product Name:  PAD3 (human recombinant)
Description:  Protein Arginine Deiminases (PADs) are guanidino-modifying enzymes belonging to the amidinotransferase superfamily and are designated PAD1-4 and PAD6. PADs are calcium-dependent enzymes that catalyze the post-translational modification of target proteins by converting arginine to citrulline. The various PADs exhibit tissue specific expression and different subcellular localization. PAD3 is a homodimer that is expressed in the epidermis, hair follicles, and keratinocytes. Substrates of PAD3 include filaggrin, trichohyalin, apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF), vimentin, and other proteins. Both PAD1 and PAD3 are speculated to maintain skin hydration. PAD3 has also been showed to be involved in hair growth and cytoskeletal organization.
