| Description: | HeLa whole-cell extract (IL-1α stimulated) was prepared from a cell culture of the HeLa human epithelial carcinoma cell line. Stimulation of HeLa cells with the cytokine interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1α), a member of the interleukin-1 family that plays a central role in the regulation of the immune response, causes activation of the NFκB signal transduction pathway. The transcription factor NFκB is widely studied due to its implication in the regulation of genes that control inflammation, cell proliferation and cell survival. |

| Extract Composition: | HeLa whole-cell extract was collected in Lysis Buffer after a 30-minute incubation with or without IL-1α (5 ng/ml). The Lysis Buffer consists of 20 mM Hepes pH 7.5, 350 mM NaCl, 20% glycerol, 1% Igepal-CA630, 1 mM MgCl2, 0.5 mM EDTA and 0.1 mM EGTA. The protein content has been determined by a Bradford-based assay. |
