| Scientific Background: | CXXC1 (also known as CGBP or CpG binding protein) is a transcriptional activator protein that binds unmethylated CpG dinucleotides and plays a role in regulating gene expression and embryonic development. CGBP exhibits a different distribution pattern than other heterochromatin-associated proteins. It seems to co-localize with acetylated histones, indicating that CXXC1 is associated with active chromatin. |
