NOLC1

  • Official Full Name

    nucleolar and coiled-body phosphoprotein 1

  • Overview

The functions of NOLC1 (Nucleolar and coiled-body phosphoprotein 1 ) are related to nucleologenesis. It may play a role in the maintenance of the fundamental structure of the fibrillar center and dense fibrillar component in the nucleolus. NOLC1 colocalizes with RNA polymerase I at the active foci of rRNA gene transcription in the nucleolus suggesting that it may have a role in transcription catalyzed by RNA polymerase I.
