Recombinant Human RBP4, His-tagged

Cat. No.: RBP4-3717H
Product Overview: Total 204 AA. MW: 23 kDa (calculated). N-terminal His-tag, 21 extra AA (highlighted). The AA sequence is identical to UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot entry Q5VY30 (AA16-199).
Description: RBP4 is protein that in humans is encoded by the RBP4 gene. This protein belongs to the lipocalin family and is the specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A alcohol) in the blood. It delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin, which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. A deficiency of vitamin A blocks secretion of the binding protein posttranslationally and results in defective delivery and supply to the epidermal cells.
Source: E. coli
Species: Human
Form: Filtered (0.4 μm) and lyophilized from 0.5 mg/ml in PBS buffer, pH 7.5.
Research topic: Diabetology-Autoimmunity; Energy metabolism and body weight regulation
Purity: 95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Reconstitution: Add deionized water to prepare a working stock solution of approximately 0.5 mg/mL and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely. Product is not sterile! Please filter the product by an appropriate sterile filter before using it in the cell culture.
Applications: Western blotting; ELISA; Binding assay
Quality Control Test: BCA to determine quantity of the protein; SDS PAGE to determine purity of the protein
