Recombinant Human Cardiotrophin 1

Cat. No.: CTF1-138H
Product Overview: Recombinant Human Cardiotrophin 1 expressed inE. Coliis a peptide of 21.5 kDa that consists of 201 amino acid residues.
Description: Human Cardiotrophin-1 is a member of the leukemia inhibitory/ciliary neurotrophic factor/Oncostatin M/interleukin6/interleukin-11 family of cytokines. Cardiotrophin-1 affects cells through interaction with the gp130 receptor subunit.
Source: E. Coli.
Amino Acid Sequence: MSRREGSLED PQTDSSVSLL PHLEAKIRQT HSLAHLLTKY AEQLLQEYVQ LQGDPFGLPS FSPPRLPVAG LSAPAPSHAG LPVHERLRLD AAALAALPPL LDAVCRRQAE LNPRAPRLLR RLEDAARQAR ALGAAVEALL AALGAANRGP RAEPPAATAS AASATGVFPA KVLGLRVCGL YREWLSRTEG DLGQLLPGGS
Supplied: Lyophilized powder from sterile filtered PBS with no additives.
Purity: >98% by SDS-Page and HPLC analysis Endotoxin level is less than 0.1ng per ug (1EU/UG) of cariotrophin-1.
Reconstitution: The lyophilized cardiotrophin-1 MUST be reconstituted in 20mM Tris , pH 8.0 (<1mg/ml). Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4°C, tighten cap and rotate to reconstitute any material on sides of vial. If desired, you can centrifuge at 1000 rpm for 1 minute to concentrate volume in bottom of vial. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions containing carrier protein or medium and stored at 4°Cfor up to 1 week or at -20°Cfor future use. Cardiotrophin-1 exerts its biological activity in the concentration of 0.1 to 10ng/ml.
Biological Activity: The ED50as determined by the dose dependent proliferation of TF-1 cell is <1ng/ml, correspondimg to a specific activity of > 1million units/mg.
Stability: The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but is best store dessicated at -20°C. Reconstituted cardiotrophin-1 should be stored in working aliquots at -20°C.
