Description : WWP1 or WW domain containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 1 belongs to a family of NEDD4-like proteins, which are E3 ubiquitin-ligase molecules and regulate key trafficking decisions, including targeting of proteins to proteosomes or lysosomes. WWP1 are found in all eukaryotes and play an important role in the regulation of a wide variety of cellular functions such as protein degradation, transcription, and RNA splicing. WWP1 negatively regulates TGF-beta signaling by directing the degradation of active components of the TGF-beta network. Wwp1 and Ubc18 function to ubiquitinate substrates that regulate longevity induced by diet restriction.

Ask a question
How to use WWP1 protein for disease diagnosis? 12/17/2022

The onset, progression, and prognosis of the disease can be assessed by examining the expression level, activity, and interaction with other proteins of the WWP1 protein. These features can also be used to develop new biomarkers and drug targets.

What is the relationship between WWP1 protein and the onset and progression of disease? 08/16/2022

Some studies have shown that abnormal expression of WWP1 protein may be related to the occurrence and progression of some diseases. For example, in some cancers, the expression level of the WWP1 protein may change. In addition, the WWP1 protein may also be a drug target for the treatment of these diseases.

How does WWP1 protein relate to other apoptotic pathways? 05/27/2020

WWP1 protein has some correlation with other apoptotic pathways. For example, it may be interrelated with apoptotic proteases such as CASP3 to jointly regulate the apoptosis process in cells. In addition, it may be associated with other apoptotic pathways, such as the mitochondrial pathway and the death receptor pathway.

What diseases are associated with mutations or abnormal expression of the WWP1 protein? 02/15/2020

Some studies have shown that mutations or abnormal expression of the WWP1 protein may be related to some diseases, such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, etc. However, the specific association needs to be confirmed by further research.

Is WWP1 protein similar to other proteins? 04/25/2019

It has certain similarities with other proteins, such as they are involved in the regulation of apoptosis. However, the structure and function of the WWP1 protein are somewhat different from other proteins.

How to use the activity of WWP1 protein for disease treatment? 04/12/2019

The activity can be modulated by drugs or other small molecule compounds to treat diseases related to WWP1 protein. For example, some drugs can inhibit the activity of the WWP1 protein, thereby promoting apoptosis and clearing abnormal cells.
