TRAM1

  • Official Full Name

    translocation associated membrane protein 1

  • Overview

    Translocating chain-associated membrane protein 1 (TRAM1) belonging to the TRAM family is a multi-pass membrane protein, a component of the translocon, found within the Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER). TRAM1 functions as a mediator for the lateral movement of specific signaling peptides and transmembrane segments into the membrane bilayer from the translocon. However, TRAM1 is which would enable TRAM1 to have a dual role in nascent polypeptide processing and ER protein dislocation.
  • Synonyms

    TRAM1; translocation associated membrane protein 1; translocating chain-associated membrane protein 1; TRAM; TRAMP; translocation-associating membrane protein 1; translocating chain-associating membrane protein; PNAS8; PRO1292;
