CETP Activity Assay and Inhibitor Drug Screening

Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP), also called plasma lipid transfer protein, is a plasma protein that facilitates the transport of cholesteryl esters and triglycerides between the lipoproteins. It collects triglycerides from very-low-density (VLDL) or low-density lipoproteins (LDL) and exchanges them for cholesteryl esters from high-density lipoproteins (HDL), and vice versa. In times, however, CETP does a heteroexchange, trading a triglyceride for a cholesteryl ester or a cholesteryl ester for a triglyceride.

CETP has a complex interaction with Statin pathway. So it is very important in pharmacology. Creative BioMart has a self-quenched fluorescent neutral lipid that can be measured when transferred to an acceptor molecule. The fluorometric intensity is directly proportional to the amount of neutral lipid transfer. With this method, we develop a lipid platform that can do CETP activity assay and inhibitor drug screening.

PLTP Activity Assay and Inhibitor Drug Screening

Plasma phospholipid transfer protein (PLTP) is thought to play a major role in the facilitated transfer of phospholipids between lipoproteins and in the modulation of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) particle size and composition. PLTP-facilitated lipid transfer activity is related to HDL and LDL metabolism, as well as lipoprotein lipase activity, adiposity, and insulin resistance.

A self-quenched fluorescent neutral lipid that can be measured when transferred to an acceptor molecule. The fluorometric intensity is directly proportional to the amount of neutral lipid transfer. Adopting this strategy, we develop a lipid platform that can do PLTP activity assay and inhibitor drug screening.
