olfactory receptor, family 2, subfamily F, member 1
Olfactory receptors interact with odorant molecules in the nose, to initiate a neuronal response that triggers the perception of a smell. The olfactory receptor proteins are members of a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR) arising from single coding-exon genes. Olfactory receptors share a 7-transmembrane domain structure with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors and are responsible for the recognition and G protein-mediated transduction of odorant signals. The olfactory receptor gene family is the largest in the genome. The nomenclature assigned to the olfactory receptor genes and proteins for this organism is independent of other organisms.

OR2F1 involved in several pathways and played different roles in them. We selected most pathways OR2F1 participated on our site, such as Olfactory transduction, which may be useful for your reference. Also, other proteins which involved in the same pathway with OR2F1 were listed below. Creative Biomart supplied nearly all the proteins listed, you can search them on our site.
OR2F1 has several biochemical functions, for example, G-protein coupled receptor activity, olfactory receptor activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by OR2F1 itself. We selected most functions OR2F1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with OR2F1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
