  • Official Full Name
  • palladin, cytoskeletal associated protein
  • Background
  • This gene encodes a cytoskeletal protein that is required for organizing the actin cytoskeleton. The protein is a component of actin-containing microfilaments, and it is involved in the control of cell shape, adhesion, and contraction. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with a susceptibility to pancreatic cancer type 1, and also with a risk for myocardial infarction. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.

Protein Function

PALLD has several biochemical functions, for example, actin binding, muscle alpha-actinin binding, protein binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by PALLD itself. We selected most functions PALLD had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with PALLD. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

Interacting Protein

PALLD has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with PALLD here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of PALLD.
