KALRN

  • Official Full Name

    kalirin, RhoGEF kinase

  • Overview

Huntingtons disease (HD), a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by loss of striatal neurons, is caused by an expansion of a polyglutamine tract in the HD protein huntingtin. This gene encodes a protein that interacts with the huntingtin-associated protein 1, which is a huntingtin binding protein that may function in vesicle trafficking. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
  • Synonyms

KALRN has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding, Rho guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity, enzyme binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by KALRN itself. We selected most functions KALRN had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with KALRN. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

KALRN has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with KALRN here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of KALRN.
