Advanced Solutions for Membrane Protein Expression, Purification and Structural Analysis
Membrane proteins, which represent about 30% of all genes and over 50% of current drug targets, remain underrepresented in the Protein Data Bank due to challenges in their expression, solubilization, and stabilization. This highlights the need for innovative solutions in the study and application of membrane proteins.
We are pleased to invite Xinyan Zhang, Senior Scientist and Project Manager at Creative BioMart, to present an in-depth look at our advanced membrane protein expression, purification, and structural analysis platform.
In this webinar, Dr. Zhang will introduce Creative BioMart's integrated platform designed to overcome the challenges in membrane protein production. The platform supports expression in various systems including bacterial, yeast, insect, mammalian, and cell-free systems, followed by detergent-based solubilization and purification. Additionally, we offer reconstitution of proteins into native-like environments such as proteoliposomes, nanodiscs, and virus-like particles (VLPs). The session will highlight successful case studies, including the purification of full-length transmembrane proteins like CCR6 and CCR8, preserving their ligand-binding activity.

Dr. Zhang specializes in advanced structural biology. His expertise spans biophysical characterization, recombinant protein expression, and native complex extraction, with a focus on high-resolution techniques like Cryo-EM.
Before joining Creative BioMart, Dr. Zhang completed postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, refining his structural biology skills. Currently, he bridges laboratory research with commercial applications, overseeing purification and biophysical projects while driving business development, partnerships, and customized solutions. His work accelerates drug discovery and development for pharmaceutical and biotech industries globally.
