PRRT2
-
Official Full Name
proline-rich transmembrane protein 2
-
Overview
Second messenger systems are intimately involved in the transduction of a primary signal at the cell membrane to its final destination to the nucleus. Many factors are involved in second messenger systems but protein kinase C for activation, and it phosphorylates substrate proteins on serine and threonine residues. It has recently become apparent that protein kinase C exists as several isoforms i.e., PKCalpha, PKCbetaI, PKCbetaII, and PKCgamma. Comparison of the bovine PKC family reveals four conserved regions, C1-C4, and five variable regions V1-V5. -
