The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the keratin gene family. This type I hair keratin is an acidic protein which heterodimerizes with type II keratins to form hair and nails. The type I hair keratins are clustered in a region of chromosome 17q12-q21 and have the same direction of transcription.

KRT35 has several biochemical functions, for example, structural molecule activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by KRT35 itself. We selected most functions KRT35 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with KRT35. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

KRT35 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with KRT35 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of KRT35.
