SP5

  • Official Full Name

    Sp5 transcription factor

  • Overview

Sp5 is a member of the Sp family of zinc finger transcription factors. Like other family members, the Sp5 protein contains a Cys2His2 zinc finger DNA binding domain at the C-terminus. Elevated expression of Sp5 has been noted in several human tumors including hepatocellular carcinoma, gastric cancer and colon cancer.

SP5 has several biochemical functions, for example, DNA binding, RNA polymerase II regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding, metal ion binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by SP5 itself. We selected most functions SP5 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with SP5. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

SP5 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with SP5 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of SP5.
