  • Official Full Name
  • tRNA-yW synthesizing protein 3 homolog
  • Background
  • Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine at the 3-prime position adjacent to the anticodon of phenylalanine tRNA that stabilizes codon-anticodon interactions during decoding on the ribosome. TYW3 is the human homolog of a yeast gene essential for yW synthesis (Noma and Suzuki, 2006).

Protein Function

TYW3 has several biochemical functions, for example, methyltransferase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by TYW3 itself. We selected most functions TYW3 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with TYW3. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
