|Official Full Name||acyl-CoA dehydrogenase, C-2 to C-3 short chain; SCAD|
|Background||This gene encodes a a tetrameric mitochondrial flavoprotein, which is a member of the acyl-CoA dehydrogenase family. This enzyme catalyzes the initial step of the mitochondrial fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Short Chain Acyl-CoA Dehydrogenase Deficiency. ACADS has several biochemical functions, for example, acyl-CoA dehydrogenase activity, butyryl-CoA dehydrogenase activity, electron carrier activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by ACADS itself. We selected most functions ACADS had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with ACADS. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

ACADS has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with ACADS here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of ACADS.
